Miss Modesty remains coy

Our 28 week sonogram came and went today in relatively quiet fashion.

Of course, we are well aware that no bad news is usually very GOOD news, and all the vital stats looked good (so we're told), so we are glad... just wish we could have seen more!

The baby is upside down right now, but it's early enough that she'll likely still change position a lot, so that doesn't mean much yet. She weighs 2 pounds 4 oz now, which is perfect, and all the organs etc. were right on. Her head measurement numbers were apparently a little below average, but the tech and doctor said that that is more likely a function of her position (it's hard to measure the head accurately when a baby is breech). The pictures looked fine and the doctor is not concerned (however, they will measure again in four weeks -- which means a bonus sonogram for us).

We did get to see (and feel) some hiccups, which was fun... and guess what? She already has some hair on that little head!

Unfortunately, the cool 4-D sono we had been so looking forward to was a no-go today. Schneebs was so curled up that we couldn't even get a confirmation of the gender (we have no reason to doubt the earlier GIRL verdict -- but a second look would have been nice!). Also, the cord was in a big curly mass right in front of her face, so we couldn't really see her at all (although at one point a little nose peeked through for a second...!). Thus, no high resolution photos and no video to share yet! :(

Happily, the doctor will let us come back next week for another look, so hopefully baby will be more active and better positioned then. And, I suppose, we'll see her live and in person soon enough! (Just over 12 weeks to go! Hard to believe!)
